Sean Garland: six year legal battle

Court decision expected on Wednesday

A decision on whether or not the United States extradition demand against Sean Garland will be granted is now expected to be delivered on Wednesday 21 December in Dublin’s High Court.

Sean was first arrested in 2005 as he attended a Workers Party conference in Belfast. Since then he has had to contend with a prolonged legal battle while being subjected to draconian and unprecedented bail conditions.

Great to see that Sean is free from the torture of the US (at least via the RoI route anyhow). Was nice to come home from a holiday in Cuba where it can be seen through poverty and deprivation caused by the US 50 year blockade a resilient and smiling people who struggle daily against imperialism. Another smile on my face too on arrival home and no doubt on that of my ex-comrades to see the US imperialist agenda being defeated in the Irish Courts.
