All Party opposition to Garland extradition
TDs, Senators and councillors from all parties and none have publicly expressed their opposition to the proposed extradition of Seán Garland to the United States.
At a press conference in Dublin’s Shellbourne Hotel chaired by Unitarian Church minister, Rev Chris Hudson MBE,of the ‘Stop the Extradition of Sean Garland ‘ campaign,elected representatives from the Dail, the Senate and a number of councils throughout the country joined to express their opposition to the US request and publicly declare their support for the extradition to be stopped.
Amongst those attending the press conference were Fianna Fáil Senators Labhrás ÓMurchú and Jim Walsh, Labour TD Joanna Tuffy , Fianna Fáil’s Timmy Dooley, Sinn Féin TDs Martin Ferris and Aengus ÓSnodaigh and Michael Coolrealy, Richard Boyd Barrett of the United Left Alliance, Joe Higgins and Clare Daly of the Socialist Party and Independents Finian McGrath, John Halligan, Mick Wallace and Luke Flannagan.
Over 70 TDs have so far signed the petition to stop Sean’s extradition.
